About The Mitsubishi Endeavor

In 2003 production of the mid-size SUV Mitsubishi Endeavor began as a replacement for the Montero Sport in North America.

The Pajero Sport was an offshoot of the Pajero full-size SUV yet used the Triton compact pickup truck platform.

This Endeavor was designed by a team that focused purely on the USA market called “Project America”.

It was built upon the Mitsubishi PS platform that was also used under the Galant and the Eclipse – engineered for American customers.

All-wheel-drive was optional although the original concept for the Endeavor line was presented with only an ADW system.

In terms of engines, the mid-size SUV was only ever sold with one option, a 3.8-liter V6 with 24-valves for low-end torque.

These were all sold with a 4-speed automatic transmission and the AWD System transferred power to all 4 wheels equally, much like classic AWD vehicles.

Unfortunately, the Endeavor line was not a commercial success with it only reaching a third of the expected sales.

This led to the line being dropped in 2011 in favor of the Outlander compact crossover SUV that embodied what many people wanted in an automobile.
